We’ll be driving through the cedar forests and rocky mountains of the middle Atlas to reach Midelt in time for lunch. We go by Ifrane, a lovely ski resort, and Azrou, a major craft center that specializes in the use of cedar wood. Midelt is our lunch stop after over the Zad pass (2,178m), and the rest of the day will be spent driving through Errachidia and the Ziz valley on route to Erfoud. After that, we’ll go to Erg Chebbi’s sand dunes for some desert sightseeing. Merzouga hotel with dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will explore the vast dunes, passing by the oases of Merzouga, the village of Khamlia (famous for Gnaoua music), the Mifiss mines, and the desert plains where we’ll meet Berber nomads. Next, we’ll visit the oasis of Tissardmine before returning to the hotel to prepare for your camel caravan. As the sun sets over the dunes, we’ll ride to the heart of the desert and spend the night in traditional Berber tents at a bivouac, enjoying dinner and overnight lodging under the stars.
After an early wake-up to enjoy the sunrise, the group will ride camels back to the hotel. The journey then continues to Rissani and Erfoud, where you can see the famous marble plant fossils. Next, we’ll stop to explore the palm plantations of Touroug and Tinjdad. Lunch will be enjoyed near the Todra Gorges. In the afternoon, we’ll travel from Boumalne to the Dades Gorges and Dades Valley, where you’ll spend the night in a hotel with dinner included.
After breakfast, we’ll return to the Kasbah of Ait Youl through the scenic Dades Valley, passing the Valley of Roses with its kasbahs, ksours, and breathtaking landscapes on the way to Kalla M’Gouna. After lunch, we’ll visit the palm groves of Skoura and the Kasbah of Amredhyle in the afternoon. The evening will be spent relaxing at the hotel, enjoying dinner and overnight accommodation.
The day begins with a visit to Ouarzazate’s Kasbah of Taourirt, Tifoultout, and the renowned film studio. From there, we drive to Ait Ben Haddou to explore its famous Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Continuing through the scenic Tizi N’Ticha Pass, we make our way to Marrakech, where we’ll have time to explore the Kasbah and the old town. Your 5-day, 4-night desert adventure from Fes to Marrakech concludes with a drop-off at your accommodation in the late afternoon or evening.
